Pumpkin Pie image

Number Of Ingredients 13

4 eggs
2 cups canned pumpkin or fresh pumpkin puree (see box)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (a commercial mixture of ginger, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg)
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
4 tablespoons butter, melted
3 cups evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 pastry pie shells (9 inches)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  • Beat eggs together, lightly.
  • Add each ingredient in order listed and mix well after each addition.
  • Pour into the pie shells.
  • Bake 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 50 minutes. Let cool before serving.
