Steps:
- Peel and cube potatoes into ~3/4" cubes
- In a mixing bowl combine cream, flour, garlic, salt, and pepper together with 1/2 C cheddar and 1/2 C gruyere cheese.
- add potato to cream ixture and coat evenly
- Grease 4 ~ 8 oz. ramekins or other oven-safe disheswith butter
- Divide potato mixture evenly into ramekins, top with remaining cheddar and gruyere, and sprinkle with salt & pepper
- Cover with foil and bake in 400 deg. oven for about 35 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake additional 15-20 minutes to allow gratin to brown and crisp
