Linda, one of my friends in Pensacola, gave me this recipe in the 70s. Her husband, Jim, worked in our OTASCO store, and almost every day during the Christmas rush season, Linda would bring a fresh batch to the store for customers and employees to munch on while shopping or working. These have been a favorite of my family ever...

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 c solid crisco
1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 c self-rising flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c crushed potato chips
1 c chopped nuts (i use pecans, but walnuts would probably be good, too.)

Steps:

  • 1. Beat together Crisco, sugars, and eggs until creamy.
  • 2. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • 3. Drop by small spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork that has been dipped in hot water.
  • 4. Bake at 350 for 10 to 15 minutes.
