A few weeks ago I found a second-hand shop that had lots and lots of old recipe books. I have purchased several and have found this recipe. With Fall upon us, this recipe is perfect! Number Of Ingredients 8

3 lb shoulder pork chops
1 Tbsp finely minced garlic
1/3 c flour
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
3 c boiling water
15 oz applesauce
1 Tbsp lemon juice

Steps:

  • 1. Set oven to preheat to 425 degrees. In hot skillet, brown pork chops well on both sides (lightly spray skillet with cooking spray or use non-stick coated skillet. Don't use fat or oil). Place pork chops in a 3 qt. baking dish.
  • 2. In same skillet, saute garlic in pan drippings. Add flour, salt, pepper; Mix well. Add water; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Add applesauce, lemon juice; mix. Pour over pork chops.
  • 3. Bake 1 1/2 hours or until tender--baste occasionally.
