Poached Shrimp image

This is a very quick way to make shrimp and oh so tasty. I served with some steamed green beans and my forbidden rice with a twist. The rice recipe is also posted here.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 pound(s) jumbo shrimp (10-15 count)
2 tablespoon(s) old bay seasoning
1 tablespoon(s) cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon(s) ancho chili powder
1 can(s) beer
1 - lemon
- water
2 tablespoon(s) butter

Steps:

  • De-vein shrimp but leave in shell
  • Add water, beer, seasonings, and thinly sliced lemon to a deep skillet. Bring to a boil the reduce to a low simmer
  • Add shrimp and let poach 3-5 minutes until pink
  • Serve with lemon and melted butter. I like to add a bit of garlic to my butter ( optional)
