Pie Crust image

My grandmother's recipe. She had a spiral notebook with recipes cut from the newspaper or hand written in it. In her recipe book she had hand written "Very Good! Best pie crust I have found". She made the best pies! You can also use the aluminum pie plates and make several up ahead of time and freeze them.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 c flour
1 1/3 c shortening
1 3/4 tsp salt
1 large egg, beaten
1 tsp vinegar
1/2 c very cold water

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients. Roll out onto floured board. Put in pie plate. Makes two 9 inch pie shells
