PENNE PASTA WITH GINGER AND BASIL image

Yield 3-4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 pound penne
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger
2 tablespoons finely chopped shallots
2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 cup Parmesan
salt and pepper, to taste
4 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

Steps:

  • Cook penne to al dente. Drain and RESERVE 1/4 CUP COOKING LIQUID. In the same pan, melt the butter and add ginger, shallots and garlic and cook briefly. Add the pasta and cooking liquid, remaining butter, and remaining ingredients. Toss well and serve.
