Pea Salad image

Grandma made this salad with fresh or frozen home grown peas. It was one of her basic foods; those things she kept her frig stocked with. Since she got surplus cheese back in the old days this was a nutritious and economical dish.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/2 c miracle whip
2 Tbsp milk
1 pkg (10 ounces) frozen peas, thawed but not cooked
4 oz cubed or shredded cheese, american, colby, or cheddar
1/2 c chopped celery
1/4 c chopped onion
salt and pepper to taste
2-4 slice bacon, cooked and crumbled, optional

Steps:

  • 1. Mix Miracle Whip and milk. Set aside. In serveing bowl combine all other ingredients. Stir to mix. Toss with thinned Miracle Whip. Serve as a side dish.
