This recipe I found on page 150 of paula's cook book entitled "Lady and Sons Savannah Country Cookbook" Then I added a frosting of my own. Steps:
- 1. For the bars: Preheat oven to 350 Degrees, Grease and flour a 9x13 pan (I only had a 9x11 so I used that). Melt butter and peanut butter together over hot water. (I put it in a pan and on simmer it was fast and easy)
- 2. Pour into remaining ingredients and stir well. Pour into greased and floured pan and bake 25-30 minutes. (I did 35 as mine was in a smaller pan.) Cook and cut into squares.
- 3. NOTE: Besides the things I stated above at the 30 minute mark I took them out of the oven and topped with the frosting and returned it to the oven 5-10 minutes more. For the frosting just mix all together adding enough water to make a regular icing and frost the hot bars. The frosting will be thin and melty at this point. Return to oven 5-10 minutes until it bubbles or looks really hot and remove and cool. cut and serve
