Pasta With 15-Minute Burst Cherry Tomato Sauce image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 pound pasta
1 pinch Kosher salt
1/2 cup Olive Oil
2 cloves garlic, large, finely chopped
3 pints cherry tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 pinch sugar
1 cup coarsley chopped fresh basil
1 batch freshly grated parmesan (for serving)

Steps:

  • Cook pasta in large pot of boiling, salted water until al dente; drain and transfer to a large bowl.
  • Heat oil in 12" skillet or wide heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Add garlic, then tomatoes, sugar, 1 tsp. of salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tomatoes burst and release their juices, creating a sauce, 6-8minutes.
  • Toss pasta with tomatoe sauce and basil. Top with parmesan.
