PASTA CON BROCCOLI image

12 oz. medium shell pasta
3 oz. (3 tbl.) butter
16 oz. cream
8 oz. milk
15 oz. tomato sauce
3 oz. mushrooms, sliced
1/2 lb. broccoli, cut into small florets
1 1/2 tsp. garlic
3/4 c. parmesean
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Cook shells slightly (should still be very firm.) Strain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water; drain and put back in pot. Add cream, milk, butter, garlic, tomato sauce and broccoli and bring to a hard boil. Reduce heat to simmer until pasta is done, sauce is thick and broccoli is tender. Add mushrooms and stir in; cook 1 minute more. Remove from heat and add parmesean; toss and serve.
