Party Margaritas image

A large quantity of Margaritas suitable for a cooler at a party. I tried different ratios and this one tasted closest to a "classic" Margarita. Uses whole quantities so no leftover ingredients. (Save an empty tequila bottle for any remaining Margarita and keep in refrigerator for instant cocktails.)

Yield 100 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 (1 3/4 liter) bottles tequila
1 (750 ml) bottle triple sec
3 (12 ounce) cans limeade
2 quarts water
1 gallon ice
12 limes
1/2 cup kosher salt
plastic cups, 6 oz like airlines use

Steps:

  • In a 5 gallon sports drink cooler dump in the tequila, triple sec and limeade. Add a quart of water and the ice. Mix or close cooler and shake until chilled. There should still be ice left. Taste. Add remaining water to taste. The mixture should come approximately to the 3 gallon line. Leave a little strong because over the next few hours more ice will melt.
  • Cut limes into eighths. Put salt into saucer.
  • Squeeze lime wedge around rim of cup. Touch cup rim to salt. Drop lime in glass. Dispense Margarita.
