4 lbs country-style pork ribs
1 tablespoon butter
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons chopped onions
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash bottled hot pepper sauce (optional)
3 lemon slices (or 1 cap full of real lemon)

Steps:

  • Simmer ribs in salt water, covered cut in pieces.
  • Meanwhile prepare sauce: In sauce pan melt 1 tablespoon of butter and simmer 1 clove a garlic, crushed.
  • Add ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, onion, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, celery seed, salt, hot pepper sauce, and lemon.
  • Bring all this to a boil and pour over drained ribs placed in a shallow pan.
  • Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, basting often with sauce.
