Ottoman Bazaar Cocktail image

Raki, the spirit in this cocktail, is an intense anise-flavored brandy commonly served with ice and water. Here, the bartenders temper raki's strong black-licorice taste by mixing in passion fruit and spices.

1 3/4 ounces raki (or other anise-flavored liquor)
1 3/4 ounces fresh orange juice
1 ounce passion fruit puree
1/4 ounce honey
Pinch of ground cloves
Pinch of ground cardamom
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Cinnamon stick and dried lime slice, for garnish

Steps:

  • Combine the raki, orange juice, passion fruit puree, honey, cloves, cardamom and ground cinnamon in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a tall glass filled with crushed ice.
  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a dried lime slice.
