- After thoroughly washing a large navel orange with soap to remove all pesticides, dirt, and germs, carefully remove the peel without disturbing the white pith! Chop peel finely in food processor ~ Place chopped peel into a sterile jar and top with boiling water and vodka.
- Cool to room temperature and store covered in the cupboard for 3-7 days before using as orange flavoring.
- After a week, strain into small sterile bottles. For gift giving, tie each bottle with ribbon and a tag marked "orange extract".
