Onion and Parmesan Buttermilk Biscuits image

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup onion, diced small
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup buttermilk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cheese, onion and poppy seeds together with a wire whisk.
  • Mix in the butter with a pastry blender until crumbly.
  • Mix in the buttermilk with a wooden spoon.
  • Place your dough on a floured surface, flour your hands, and knead 5 times. Flour your rolling pin and roll out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut into biscuits and place on a cookie sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
