Ollie Cookies image

Refrigerator cookies. Ollie was my precious grandmother and ALWAYS had them made up and the dough in the freezer waiting or us. I always called them "Ollie cookies"

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 c crisco butter flavored shortening
1 c sugar
1 c brown sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla flavoring
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
4 c all purpose flour
1 c pecans (chopped)

Steps:

  • 1. Cream together shortening, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs one at a time and blend well. Add vanilla. Slowly add dry ingredients. Mixture will be extremely thick. Stir in pecans.
  • 2. On wax paper roll dough into rolls about 2" in diameter and about 10" long. Freeze or if you are ready to bake slice into about 1/2 inch slices and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes (or until golden on edges) For a crunchier cookie bake a few minutes longer.
