Old Fashioned Cinnamon Toast image

Has anyone out there ever had real cinnamon toast? I don't mean the kind where you toast the bread, spread on some butter and then sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar. Real cinnamon toast, is when you make a cinnamon butter, spread it on bread and then cook it under the broiler until it becomes bubbly and golden brown. What you end up with is sweet, chewy and finger licking good! I have had arguments with people who think that I am making it wrong but as soon as they taste it they have to eat their words but they would rather eat this delicious Old Fashioned Cinnamon Toast.

Number Of Ingredients 4

I stick(s) butter, room temp.
2/3 cup(s) sugar
1 tablespoon(s) cinnamon
6 slice(s) bread, cinnamon, raisin, potato, white, wheat, your choice

Steps:

  • Gather first three ingredients and heat oven to broil.
  • Put the butter, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  • To make the cinnamon butter, blend the butter, sugar and cinnamon together until well incorporated.
  • Spread the cinnamon butter on bread slices.
  • Put some aluminum foil under top rack to catch any drippings. Place cinnamon bread slices on oven racks directly under the broiler.
  • By keeping a very close watch to prevent burning, cook cinnamon toast until it is bubbly and golden brown.
  • And looks like this!
