No Peek Casserole image

My mother inlaw passed this recipe down to me many years ago. My family loves this and considers it comfort food. Enjoy.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 pound(s) beef, i use sirloin
2 can(s) mushroom (drain one) can use fresh see below
1 package(s) dry onion soup mix
1 can(s) condensed mushroom soup, undiluted
1/2 cup(s) red wine, dry burgundy(optional)
8 ounce(s) sour cream, optional
- egg noodles or rice

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in oven proof dish or dutch oven. Cover tightly. Bake 3 hours at 300 degrees. Sour cream may be added before serving. Serve over noodles or rice.
  • Note: I have used fresh mushrooms and added 1/2 cup of water.
