MY MOM'S BANANA BREAD image

This recipe has been in my family for as long as I can remember. My mother, who is watching me from heaven, made this frequently when I was growing up. It is simple and very moist.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 or 3 bananas, the riper the better
1 c sugar
3 Tbsp margarine, melted
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 c sour milk (add 1 tbsp lemon juice to 1 cup milk)
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray 2 loaf pans with cooking spray.
  • 2. Mash bananas well (I use my potato masher)add sugar and mix well. Add remaining ingredients and mix to combine well.
  • 3. Divide mixture evenly between loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour until done when tested with toothpick.
