Classic winter comfort food! The flavors blend so well together and I loved the addition of cottage cheese rather than ricotta. What I really love, though, is the unique way to boil the noodles. Genius... I may never go back to my old way again!

Steps:
- 1. In a large frying pan cook the hamburger and onions until the hamburger is completely cooked and the onions are tender , lightly season with garlic powder and salt & pepper.
- 2. To the cooked meat mixture add the spices, tomato paste , diced tomatoes , black olives and the cans of water and mix together.
- 3. Simmer the sauce on medium low heat for 30 minutes.
- 4. Meanwhile place your dry lasagna noodles in a 8x11" dish and pour BOILING HOT water over top of them to get them to soften up. ( This is an easy way to keep the noodles intact for assembly) Drain once they have softened. Takes about 20 minutes or so , it's alright if they are aldente')
- 5. Prepare your mozzarella cheese into thin slices.
- 6. Start the assembly of your lasagna with sauce mixture on the bottom of an 8x11" dish.
- 7. Than take 4 of the softened lasagna noodles and layer on top of the sauce.
- 8. Than layer 1/2 of the container of the cottage cheese on top noodles.
- 9. Top the cottage cheese layer with the slices of mozzarella cheese.
- 10. Repeat all the layering steps and top the final step with the blended cheese mixture.
- 11. Bake in a preheated oven @ 350° for 45 minutes. Let sit and rest for atleast 10 minutes before you cut into the baked lasagna....enjoy!!
