Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs, reserve whites
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts, chopped
1 cup brown sugar, packed

Steps:

  • preheat oven to 350*.mix first 7 ingredients together.
  • spread very thin in a greased 13x9" pan --
  • sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  • beat egg whites till stiff and add brown sugar --
  • spread over nuts and bake for 30 minutes.
  • cut into squares while hot.
