I started making this recipe several years ago for a quick treat for my kids. Little did I know that it would become famous in our town. I'm asked to make it for all my kid's friends, teachers, co-workers and bake sales.

Steps:
- 2 cups Flour, ½ tsp Salt, ½ tsp Baking Powder, 1 tsp Baking Soda, 1 tsp each: cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside. In a large bowl, beat 2 cups sugar and ¾ cup butter. Slowly beat in 2 eggs and 1 can (1 lb) pumpkin. Add flour mixture and mix well. Add ¾ cups nuts if desired.

- Pour into greased pans - makes 3 7" loaves or 5 5" loaves. Bake 350°- 50-55 minutes
