MOOSEWOOD FUDGE BROWNIES image

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 C butter
3 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 C lightly packed brown sugar
1/2 t vanilla
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 C unbleached white flour (using pastry flour yields a fudgier, less cake-like brownie)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350. Butter baking pan. In a pot, melt the butter and chocolate together on low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Add the brown sugar and vanilla and beat by hand with an electric mixer. Stir in the flour and mix until the batter is thoroughly blended and smooth. Pour the batter into teh prepared pan and bake for about 20 minutes, until teh brownies are just beginning to pull away from the sides of the pan and are still fudgy in the center. If you prefer a more cake-like brownie, bake for an addtional 5 minutes.
