Mom's Spritz Cookies image

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup Butter salted - room temperature (do not microwave)
2/3 cup Sugar
3 pieces Egg yolks
2 ounces Unsweetened chocolate
1-1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
2-1/2 cups All-purpose flour (sifted)

Steps:

  • Cream butter, add sugar and slightly beaten egg yolk and colouring (if desired).
  • Stir in melted, cooled chocolate and vanilla.
  • Sift together dry ingredients and add to the bowl.
  • Form cookies with press on uncreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
  • NOTE: this dough is a fine basic Spritz, if chocolate is eliminated. Add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract to light dough in place of 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla. Form and bake as directed
  • Note: if using thin cookie pans - 8 min only. DON'T CHILL DOUGH.
