MOM'S HAMBURGER SOUP image

Yield 12 bowls

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 28 ounce can tomatoes
2 cups water
1 can tomato soup
Sprinkle of Parsley
4 carrots, chopped
3 stalks celery, chopped
8 tablespoons pearl barley
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 bay leaf
3 cans consomme soup
Salt & Pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef and onions. Drain very well & rinse fat completely from beef. Combine all ingredients in a large pot or crock pot. Cook at least 2 hours in pot or 8 hours in crock pot. Serves 10-12
