meatballs
1 lb hamburger
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup onion, diced
1/2 cup whole milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons butter
buttermilk, sauce
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 1/4 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 egg, beaten
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Combine all meatball ingredients
  • except butter.
  • Shape into balls.
  • Brown in the butter.
  • Remove from skillet.
  • Keep warm.
  • Pour most of grease from skillet.
  • Combine all the sauce ingredients to make gravy.
  • when thick.
  • add meatballs
  • simmer until flavors are blended.
