Maple-glazed pork chops. image

I got this recipe from my dad. He always made it in the fall because of the flavors, they remind you of the fall. He insisted that I use REAL maple syrup only.

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 - boneless pork loin chops, 3/4
1/4 teaspoon(s) salt & pepper
1 tablespoon(s) canola oil
2 tablespoon(s) finely chopped shallots
2 tablespoon(s) toasted, chopped pecans
2 tablespoon(s) real maple syrup
1 tablespoon(s) melted butter
1 tablespoon(s) fresh thyme, snipped.

Steps:

  • Sprinkle chops w/ salt & pepper. Spray a lg skillet w/ cooking spray made w/ canola oil. Place skillet over medium-high heat. Add pecans, toast for 1-2 min. Remove pecans from skillet. Reduce heat to medium. Add oil & shallots, cook for 1 min, stirring. Add chops and cook for about 15 min, turning once until juices run clear. In small bowl, combine pecans, syrup, butter and thyme. Whisk well. Add syrup mix to pan and heat through. Place chops on plate and drizzle w/ glaze.
