Magic Cookie Bars image

Was looking for a dessert recipe for the holidays, lower in sugar. These fit the bill. They're easy to make and they taste scrumptious. Got the recipe from: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/recipe/bars/magic-cookie-bars/

Categories     Crackers

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 Tbsp butter, melted
1 c graham cracker crumbs
1 c walnuts or pecans, chopped (i use pecans)
6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
1 c coconut, shredded
14 oz fat-free sweetened condensed milk (1 can)

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 13 x 9 x 2 baking pan with foil, extending foil over pan's edges. Put butter in the pan and place in oven for about 5 minutes, or until butter melts. Tilt pan to coat evenly. Sprinkle with crushed graham crackers; layer with nuts, chocolate chips and coconut. Drizzle with fat-free sweetened condensed milk.
  • 2. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Cool in pan, on a wire rack, for 15 minutes. Use foil to lift from pan and then cut into bars (I used my pizza rolling cutter for this). Let cool completely.
