Luscious Lasagna image

I've been making this recipe for years and it's a family favorite. I'm not a fan of ricotta cheese so I use cottage cheese instead. I hope your family enjoys this dish, too.

Number Of Ingredients 17

1 1/2 - lbs. ground beef
3/4 - cup chopped onion
1 - garlic clove, minced
1 - 16 oz. can tomatoes
1 - 15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 - tbsp. parsley flakes
1-2 - tbsp. sugar, according to taste
1 - tsp. salt
1 - tsp. basil
24 - oz. small curd cottage cheese
1/2 - cup grated parmesan cheese
1 - tsp. parsley flakes
1 1/2 - tsp. salt
1 - slightly rounded tsp. oregano
1 - box lasagna noodles
3/4 - lb. mozzerella cheese slices
1/2 - cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef, adding onion, garlic, parsley, salt and basil. Mix tomatoes, tomato sauce and sugar. Add to meat mixture and stir well. Simmer for 20 min.
  • While that cooks, prepare cottage cheese mixture. Cook noodles and drain.
  • In a 13x9 baking dish, begin with layer of noodles, then a layer of cottage cheese mixture, mozzerella cheese, parmesan cheese, then begin with another layer of same. Cover and bake at 350 for 45 min.
