Pol Martin Cookbook: East Cooking for Today This white sauce recipe is asked for in many of Pol Martins recipes. When a recipe requires "light white sauce" please refer to this. This recipe did not give me a measurement in cup volume, so I am guessing 1 1/2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 tablespoons flour
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • pour milk into saucepan and bring to boiling point, remove and set aside.
  • heat butter in separate saucepan, when hot add flour and mix well. cook for 2 minutes over low heat.
  • incorporate milk into flour VERY slowly; stir constantly. season sauce well and continue cooking 10 minutes over low heat, mixing frequently.
  • use in as required.
