Layered Cobb Salad image

This is such a delicious salad, great for family picnics and BBQ's. I have also added chopped hard boiled eggs to this recipe and it's a great addition. You can virtually add or subtract any veggies you like.

Number Of Ingredients 8

6 c romaine lettuce, washed and sliced
1/2 lb grape tomatos, halved
4 c cooked chicken, shredded
2 ripe avocados, peeled and diced
1 large red onion, peeled and sliced
1 lb cooked medium shrimp, peeled and devained
1 c chunky blue cheese dressing ( i like marzetti's)
6 slice cooked bacon, crumbled

Steps:

  • 1. Place sliced lettuce in the bottom of a 14 cup glass salad bowl or trifle dish. Pack down slightly
  • 2. On top of lettuce, neatly layer tomatoes, chicken, avocados, red onion and shrimp. Press down lightly to compress.
  • 3. Spread with dressing. refrigerate at least and hour. Sprinkle with bacon just before serving.
