LASAGNE VERDI AL FORNO image

Number Of Ingredients 20

Meat sauce:
16 oz. pork sausage
8 oz smoked sliced chicken
1 lg onion, chopped
1 med carrot, finely shredded
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 1/3 c. water
3/4 c. dry red wine
1/3 c. tomato paste
1/2 t. italian herb seasoning
1/8 t pepper
Cream Sauce:
1/3 c butter
1/3 c flour
1 t salt
3 c milk
Cheese filling: Toss
2 c. shredded mozzarella
1 1/2 c grated parmesan
1/4 c. snipped parsley

Steps:

  • Meat Sauce: Cook & stir sausage, drain. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling, reduce heat Simmer uncovered 1 hr. Cream Sauce: Make bechamel. Mix cheeses. Prepare meat sauce, noodles, cheese filling & cream sauce. Reserve 1/2 c. cheese filling. Spread 1 c meat sauce in oblong baking dish, 13 1/2 x 9 x 2. Layer 3 noodles, 1/2 of cream sauce, 1/2 of remaining cheese filling, 3 noodles, 1/2 of remaining meat sauce, repeat. Sprinkle with reserved cheese filling. Cook uncovered in 350 F oven until hot & bubbly, about 35 min. Let stand 10 min. before cutting. Use cooked Spinach noodles
