Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup self-rising cornmeal
2 eggs
1 Tbsp sugar
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup +1 Tbsp water
1/4 cup vegetable oil or bacon grease
Oil for frying

Steps:

  • Mix first seven ingredients well. Oil heated griddle. Drop batter by 2 Tbsp. scoops on to griddle. Brown until crisp. Flip and brown second side.
