Kelly's Kickin' BBQ Sauce image

Just the right blend of sweet, smokey and tangy... great on pulled pork, meatballs, burgers, chicken... you name it. Enjoy!

1 c ketsup
1 c tomato sauce
3/4 c brown sugar
3/4 c red wine vinegar
1/4 c molasses
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp liquid smoke, hickory flavor
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp coriander
1/8 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for a minimum of 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sauce will thicken during both cooking and cooling.
  • 2. This recipe can be doubled or tripled. The sauce freezes well (up to 2 months), best if thawed in the refrigerator.
