Number Of Ingredients 18

Noodles
1 Pound Italian Sausage Chopped
1/2 Pound Ground Beef
1 cup chopped onion
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
28 oz can tomatoes diced
2 cans tomato paste
2 tsp sugar
1.5 tsp salt, divided
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp fennel seeds (whole)
1/4 tsp pepper
1 egg sl. beaten
500 ml ricotta
1 tbls parsley flakes
1/4 cup sliced ripe olives
4 cups shredded mozarella
3/4 cup grated parmesan

Steps:

  • 1. Brown meats, onion & garlic 2. combine (1) with ingredients up to but not including egg (N.B. only 1/2 of salt) 3a. boil meat mixture, then simmer uncovered for 20 mins 3b. boil noodles to al dante 4. combine egg, ricotta, parsely and remaining salt 5. layer small amnt mixture in pan 6. alternate 3 layers, each consisting of Meat/Ricotta/olives/cheese, separated by noodles (cheese ends up on top 7. bake covered 1/2 hr, then uncovered 15-20 mins at 375
