It's Brat to Me Casserole image

My family loves Bratwurst and potluck potato casserole during summer picnics and get togethers. I combined two family favorites into this hearty rib sticking cold weather casserole.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 pound(s) bratwurts
2 pound(s) o'brien hash brown potatoes, frozen
1/2 cup(s) butter, melted
1 can(s) condensed cheese soup
1/2 cup(s) onion, chopped
8 ounce(s) sour cream
2 cup(s) sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 clove(s) garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) black pepper
1/8 teaspoon(s) celery seed, ground
1 - sleeves ritz crackers, crushed with 1/4 cup melted butter

Steps:

  • Remove bratwurst from casing and brown draining fat.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees with oven rack placed in the center of the oven.
  • Defrost potatoes. Combine in large mixing bowl with 1/2 cup melted butter, and seasoning.Add onion, soup, sour cream, cheese, garlic & spices and bratwurst. Blend thoroughly. Pour into buttered casserole. Cover with crumbs. Bake 45 minutes.
