Italian sausage pasta sauce image

This recipe is so easy, yet amazingly delicious!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 lb italian sausage
1/2 sweet onion, finely diced
3-4 clove garlic, grated
1 1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp sea salt
3 basil leaves, fresh or fresh frozen
3 can(s) 15 oz ea, diced tomatoes with oregano, garlic and basil
1/2 c parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Dice onions and place in large skillet. Add crumbled sausage or chopped sausage links on top. Cook over low heat for about 20 min. until onions are tender and sausage is browned. Add grated garlic.
  • 2. Place canned diced tomatoes in food processor or blender. Add basil leaves, lemon juice, sugar and salt. Puree.
  • 3. Add to skillet with 1/2 c of Parmesan cheese and simmer about 20 min. on very low heat.
