Italian Chicken with Mushrooms image

This is great served over pasta with a spinach salad on the side. ETA Now that I only cook for myself, I find that cutting the chicken in chunks works well, is easier to eat, and makes me feel like I've got more chicken than I do. lol.

Number Of Ingredients 6

4 - skinless boneless chicken breasts
1 - envelope italian salad dressing mix
1/4 cup(s) water
1 8-oz package(s) cream cheese, softened
1 10-oz can(s) cream of mushrooms soup
1 4-oz can(s) mushroom pieces, drained

Steps:

  • Place chicken in greased 3 1/2 to 5-quart slow cooker.
  • Combine salad dressing mix and water; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on high heat 3 hours.
  • In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and soup until blended. Stir in mushrooms. Pour over chicken.
  • Cook 2 hours longer on high heat, or until chicken juices run clear.
