Italian Charoset image

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 Apples sweet or tart
2 Pears
2 cups Sweet Wine
1/3 cup Pine Nuts (50 grams)
2/3 cup Ground Almonds (50 grams)
1/2 pound Dates pitted and chopped
3/4 cup Raisins Golden or Sultana (100 grams)
4 ounce Prunes pitted and chopped (100 grams)
1/2 cup Honey or Sugar (100 grams)
1/2 teaspoon Ginger ground
1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Steps:

  • Peel and core the apples and pears and cut into small pieces
  • Place all ingredients in a pan and simmer ~ 1 hour until fruits are very soft, adding a little water if it becomes too dry. Cool before serving
