Irish Potato Soup image

Our family argues about the correct way to make potato soup. This is my dad's way and it is simple as can be. It is the best.

Number Of Ingredients 5

- as many potatoes as you would like,
- onions approximately equal to potatoes
- milk. you need a volume two to three times the vegetables
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Peel and slice your potatoes and chop your onions. Put the vegetable in a pot.
  • Cover the vegetables with at least twice the volume of milk. I like just a bit more milk.
  • Heat the soup but do not let it boil. Turn down the heat and stir while cooking until the vegetables are done. Add salt and pepper to taste. It takes a little more than you would think. Add the pepper to taste. I like a lot but be careful or you soup will be very hot. That's all there is too it. Yummy.
