Impossible French Apple Pie image

My parents had a fish fry yesterday 4/20/13 & I wanted to make a dessert for them, so I decided on something with apples that my Dad would love. 2 large apples, granny smith, peeled cored and thinly sliced
1/3 c sugar
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
cooking spray
BATTER MIXTURE
2/3 c all purpose baking mix (i used bisquick)
3/4 c milk
2 medium eggs, beaten
2 Tbsp frangelico, hazelnut flavored liqueur (optional)
WALNUT STREUSEL
1/4 c butter, softened
1/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c chopped walnuts
2/3 c all purpose baking mix
2 tsp cinnamon, ground

Steps:

  • 1. Cook up in Ninja or oven.
  • 2. Stir your apples, sugar & cinnamon in a bowl. Spray the multi purpose pan (7 by 9 1/2 inches) with cooking spray and pour in the apples. Evenly distribute them in pan.
  • 3. Batter mixture: Stir 2/3 cup of baking mix, milk, Frangelico & beaten eggs into a bowl and then pour over the apples.
  • 4. Now for the walnut streusel topping: Stir butter, brown sugar, remaining baking mix & chopped walnuts into bowl. Spoon or crumble over the batter mixture. Sprinkle the remaining 2 tsp of cinnamon over the top.
  • 5. Place roasting rack into pot & place your multi-purpose pan down inside. Set OVEN to 400 degrees for 55 minutes, cover and cook until the top springs back when lightly touched.
  • 6. Remove pan from Ninja and set on rack to cool. Cut while still warm and serve with some French vanilla ice cream for a real yummy treat.
