Time 6h15m

Yield 16 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 pkg. (2-layer) white cake mix
2 cups boiling water
2 pkg. (3 oz. each) JELL-O Strawberry Flavor Gelatin
1 tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided
2 drops blue food coloring
blue decorating gel
20 candy-coated chocolate pieces
6 bear-shaped graham snacks
2 ice cream cones
green decorating icing
2 Tbsp. BAKER'S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut
2 Tbsp. powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Prepare cake batter and bake in 2 (9-inch) round pans as directed on package. Cool cakes in pans 15 min. (Do not remove cakes from pans.)
  • Add boiling water to gelatin mixes; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Pierce cakes with large fork or skewer at 1/2-inch intervals. Pour gelatin over cakes. Refrigerate 4 hours.
  • Unmold 1 cake layer onto serving plate; spread with 1/2 cup COOL WHIP. Unmold second cake layer; carefully place on top of first layer. Frost top and side of cake with 2 cups of the remaining COOL WHIP. Tint remaining COOL WHIP with food coloring; spread on top of cake to resemble ice rink. Outline outside edge of "ice rink" with decorating gel. Refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Decorate top of cake with candy-coated chocolate pieces. Add graham snacks for the "ice skaters." Decorate ice cream cones with green decorating icing; place around ice rink. Sprinkle cake with coconut then sugar.
