Number Of Ingredients 5

8 ounces Cream cheese
1/3 cups crumbled bacon
2 tablespoons diced pickled jalapeno peppers
1 (8 ounce) package hush puppy with onion mix
1 cup milk

Steps:

  • Add cream cheese, bacon crumbles, and jalapenos in a bowl and mix until totally combined. Place a sheet of wax paper on a cookie sheet. Make balls slightly larger than a marble with the mixture and place them on the wax paper not touching each other. Stick a toothpick into each one and place the cookie sheet into the freezer for 1 hour. After 55 minutes, heat deep fryer oil to 375(F) degrees. Mix hush puppy batter as directed on package. Remove cream cheese balls from freezer and using the toothpick dip balls into the batter. If batter becomes thick before you finish dipping the balls and frying them, add a little milk to the batter (2 tablespoons at a time) and mix batter again to thin. Gently place hush puppy balls into oil. Turn hush puppy over when sides are golden brown. When golden brown remove from oil and place on a paper towel. let stand for 5 minutes and then pig out.
