A family favorite in my home for years. My three sons think this is wonderful. Who would of knew a few ingredients and PRESTO, a wonderful soup. Taste better the next day when all the flavors have melded together.

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 large potatoes (peeled/cubed)
1/2 c onion (chopped)
8 c water
2 can(s) cream of tomato soup
16 hot dogs (sliced)
1/4 tsp pepper
4-6 dash(es) tabasco sauce (optional)
1 pkg beef stew mix
1 beef/chicken bouillon
2 Tbsp butter

Steps:

  • 1. Saute onion in butter, until tender.
  • 2. In a large saucepan over medium high heat, combine the potatoes, onion, seasonings, and water and boil for 15 minutes, or until tender.
  • 3. Add the tomato soup and the hot dogs and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the hot dogs are heated through.
  • 4. Believe it or not this recipe does not need much seasoning. The hot dogs give it a unique taste.
  • 5. Note: garlic/onion powder, garlic/onion salt, red pepper or any of you favorite seasonings can replace the beef stew seasoning.
