Hot Chocolate Mug Cake image

Hot Chocolate Mug Cake is an easy chocolate mug cake recipe with bits of melty mini chocolate chips throughout that microwaves into a divine dessert.

Number Of Ingredients 13

3 Tbs. half and half
2 Tbs. butter (, melted and cooled)
1 egg yolk
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 Tbs. all-purpose flour
2 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/8 tsp. salt
2 Tbs. mini chocolate chips
1 Tbs. hot fudge topping
1/3 cup whipped topping
pink and/or red cake sparkles
jumbo hearts sprinkles

Steps:

  • Spray a 10-ounce or larger microwave-safe mug with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Combine half and half, melted butter, egg yolk and vanilla in prepared mug until blended.
  • Add brown sugar, flour, cocoa powder and salt and stir until smooth.
  • Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips. Do not stir chips into batter! Chips will sink down into batter as cake "bakes".
  • Microwave 2 minutes or until cake is puffed and a toothpick inserted in center comes out with moist crumbs. If necessary, continue microwaving in 10-second intervals being sure not to over cook! Let stand 1 minute. Cake will sink down as it stands.
  • Drizzle with hot fudge sauce and top with whipped topping, cake sparkles and jumbo heart sprinkles.
