Honeybee Fondant image

This is fondant (candy) to feed honeybees in the winter. It is not for human consumption (well, it wouldn't hurt you, but, yuck). I like to keep all my recipes in one place!

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup water
5 lbs powdered sugar
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Mix sugar, water, vinegar and vanilla and heat. Do not heat to over 240 degrees. Mix in 1 t Honey Bee Healthy if you have it on hand.
  • Spray smooth paper plates with oil and pour mixture to mold. Let sit a couple of days, then pop out of mold and feed one in between the brood boxes (near wherever all the bees are).
  • Extra plates of fondant can be frozen.
