Homemade Hand Sanitizer image

Covid 19 taught me a lot of things, I learned how to make masks, I have learned how far 6 feet is exactly, and most importantly I learned how to make my own Hand Sanitizer. After not finding hand sanitizer or many other cleaning products in the stores, I started watching videos for everything. I already make my own soap so I had most the ingredients on hand, I tweeked the recipe to suit me and my needs. I added the Jojoba oil to help keep my hands from getting dry, and it works. I did the 1/2 and 1/2 mixture as I said it isn't too thick, or thin. I won't be buying hand sanitizer anymore.

Number Of Ingredients 4

2/3 cup(s) 70% or higher rubbing alcohol or 100 proof everclear
1/3 cup(s) aloe vera gel or liquid
5 - 7 dash(es) your favorite essential oil
3 - 5 dash(es) jojoba oil ( optional)

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium bowl whisk all the ingredients together. You can use any moisturizing oil you like and have on hand. I use a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of Aloe vera Gel and liquid. I like the consistency best with the 1/2 and 1/2 mixture.
  • 2. Using a funnel and spatula pour the mixture into clean travel size bottles 4 oz. Use the spatula to ensure each bottle gets its fair share of the gel.
  • 3. This recipe yields about 2 1/2 bottles. Make sure to shake before using each time because the gel settles. I double the recipe and use old hand soap containers with a pump, to keep by my sink, and the travel size are in the car, lunch, bag and purse.
