Homemade Cream Of Mushroom Soup image

My family absolutely loves when I make this for dinner. It's so easy to make and sooo good. Nothing like homemade soup on a cold day. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does. I double this recipe to feed my crew.

Number Of Ingredients 11

8 ounce(s) fresh mushrooms sliced
2 tablespoon(s) onions, chopped
2 clove(s) garlic minced
2 tablespoon(s) butter
3 tablespoon(s) flour, seperated
2 cup(s) chicken broth
1 cup(s) half and half cream
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper
1/4 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
1 teaspoon(s) thyme

Steps:

  • Melt butter in large pot. Add in onions, garlic, and mushrooms. Cook until onions are soft. Add salt, pepper, nutmeg and thyme.
  • Blend in 2 T. flour and stir.Add in the chicken broth and heat until slightly thickened while stirring frequently.
  • Stir cream with additional 1 T. flour and add to soup. Heat to thicken while stirring frequently. Serve and enjoy!
  • I doubled this to feed my crew, recipe is for about 4 servings.
