Homemade Christmas Ornaments image

I love to make my own Christmas ornaments and crafts ! I give some as gifts and keep some for decorating my multiple themed trees. Here are some examples from past years and some I plan on making this year. I will be adding to this "recipe" as I make them.

8 cup(s) love
6 dash(es) joy
3 tablespoon(s) creativity

Steps:

  • Freda made this beautiful Star Dishcloth. I would love to receive one of these for Christmas !
  • This is a new one for 2011 that me and my BF are working on. Way easy and adorable ! I have loads of old vintage buttons that were my Grandmothers. 1) Floral Wire 2) Buttons 3) Ribbon 4( Thread buttons onto wire, bend into a round wreath shape. Snip with wire cutters and twist ends to close, tie a ribbon to hide the "wire twist" and hang on tree or use on Christmas packages.
  • This is so easy, don't be fooled ! I bought (ordered) several off-white pillow covers, cut out tall triangles of scrap fabric to resemble Christmas trees then I used a heat bond product for fabric, you just iron these on, no sewing ! You can go back over the edges of the fabric with a back stitch or a sewing machine for a more "hand stitched" look. Then you just slip your regular throw pillow on and ta do instant Holiday cheer !
  • How adorable are these ! You could turn these little bottle caps into frig. magnets or Christmas tree ornaments. The design possibilities are endless....1) Use photo's as shown 2) Recycle Christmas cards and cut up to fit 3) Cut up fabric or ribbon to fit, you could even add some beads 4) Pretty scrapbook paper works great 5) You can buy magnets at any craft store or Walmart 6) Hot Glue gun ribbon to hang as ornaments
